Special Damages are expenses that you have incurred as a result of an accidental injury. Special Damages include items such as medical expenses, out of pocket expenses and vehicle damage costs.
Special Damages also include loss of earnings and the following loss of earnings calculator is intended to provide the user with assistance in calculating their loss of earnings. Each claim will be considered on its own merits taking into account the individual circumstances of each Claimant.
In certain instances Social Welfare benefit received from the Department of Social and Family Affairs may also be deducted.

InjuriesBoard.ie have access to relevant information from the Revenue Commissioners and the Department of Social and Family Affairs to validate the amounts claimed and benefits received.
In serious cases there may also be future loss of earnings, future expenses etc.
*The loss of earnings result is calculated by taking the net monthly income amount provided, multiplying it by 12, then dividing by 52 to get the effective net weekly amount. This figure is then used to calculate the total loss of income based on the number of weeks entered.
